Black Ops map pack sales hit 18 million

Activision has sold 18 million Call of Duty: Black Ops map packs at $15 a pop to a base of 23 million Black Ops owners. That's according to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirschberg, who told analysts (via Gamasutra) that the Call of Duty series has helped drive a big jump in the firm's digital revenues for the 12 months ended June 2012.He said the publisher's online revenues reached $1.7 billion during the period, up 22 percent from $1.4 billion a year earlier, and up 41 per cent from $1.2 billion during the year ended June 2009.Compared to Black Ops' DLC sales, Activision shifted 11 million $15 map packs to Modern Warfare 2's 19 million owners, and nine million $10 map packs to World at War's nine million owners.Earlier today, Activision launched the debut multiplayer trailer for Modern Warfare 3, which irmts on November 8.
